How to Apply

The application period is now open for both locations.

Space is limited so apply soon.

The Terra Vivente Art Studio residency hosts a group of artists over a three or four-week period.  The fee of 850-900 Euros covers the cost of accommodation, some transportation, use of the studio and the exhibition. Artists must cover the cost of their own art supplies, food and transportation. The studio does its best to support projects, providing guidance in acquiring materials, seeking information, making connections within the community.

Please be sure to read through the website carefully. Terra Vivente receives many more applications than it can accommodate. Those whose proposals take into consideration the location and the mandate of the residency have a much better chance of being accepted.

To apply, send your 200-word proposal, with CV and 5-10 images to the email below. If you send a link, it should lead directly to relevant work.  Indicate which residency or residencies you are applying for. Please acknowledge that you understand the fee and that, if selected, you are required to have your own insurance.

Fees to be paid by the artist: June is 850 Euros, July is 900 Euros. The fee is necessary to offset the cost of accommodation, transportation and exhibition. The residency has the support of each municipality it takes place in but none are able to provide full financial support. Terra Vivente endeavours to keep the cost low and it does not operate as a profit-making business. Letters of invitation can be provided to help artists find funding. Artists have had success securing funding for the residency in the past.

Send all materials to Helena Wadsley, residency organizer, hwadsley@telus.net

You will receive a confirmation that your application was received. If you don’t hear from us within three days, please re-send.
